Carlingford!!!!

                                              Carlingford

Our first TY trip was to Carlingford Adventure Centre. Everyone was really excited about the trip as we had heard from previous TYs it was one of their favourite things they did in TY.We stayed in Carlingford on the 17th and 18th of September. Our bus left the school at 9:00 and we arrived at Carlingford around 10:30. When we arrived we were split into two activity groups. My activity group first went to do a team building exercise which included working together to get out of  a very dark maze.

We then had our lunch and went out for our second activity, which was water sports. We got changed into our wet suits then went out to the pier. We were allowed to do pier jumping because the tide was out. We then rowed out to a trampoline in the water.
The water activities were really fun and enjoyable.

After that we got changed and went back to the activity center to have our dinner. We then went to our night activity which was night-line. We were blind-folded and had to guide each other around the dark forrest.
After that we went back to the activity center and we were allowed go out to Carlingford and get a takeaway.
We sat in the common room until it was time to go to our rooms.
There were twelve of us in our room: Me, Laura, Aoife, Lucy,Caoimhe, Laura, Anna, Susan, Eilis, Aoife, Claire and Erin. #Room32Banter. We had enough sweets to feed the population of Carlingford but we ate all the sweets until we were sick nonetheless. We sat up talking to around 3 in the morning when everyone was no longer able to keep their eyes open.
The next morning we got up around 8 and headed out for our morning activity. Our group went zip-lining which I was dreading. As a person who is afraid for heights I was expecting this activity to be daunting. Instead, I (kind of) got over my fear of heights and really enjoyed myself.

We headed home around 1 o'clock that day and arrived back to the school at 3 pm.
I though Carlingford was an amazing trip that really thought me a lot about teamwork and working together. I also learned loads about my new classmates and it was overall a really good bonding experience.
